Gong hei faht choy!

Happy Chinese New Year readers!

Can you guess what year it is this year in the Chinese lunar calendar? Come on, just one guess?!

2011 is the year of the rabbit! Ahuh!

After the hectic year that was the tiger, the year of the rabbit is supposed to bring peace. This is a year where we might self indulge a bit, so keep it in mind (and in check). A bit of self indulgence is good, but not too much or you will become a sick, fat little rabbit. This year trickle by at a leisurely pace. Pursue your hobbies – gentler ones if possible. Gardening, reading, painting, playing music etc. If going on a vacation, make it a relaxing holiday, rather than an adventure holiday.

Readers, get ready for a slower pace. Are you ready? I know I am.

N.B. Photos of tiger cub and rabbit are from 2006 at the Sanya Greatest World of Love in Sanya, a city in South China’s Hainan where tiger cubs and rabbits became friends. Don’t believe me? Look here!
