This rabbit made of carrots poster by Magpie Studio for client Gavin Martin Associates. The printers wanted to promote their conversion to eco-friendly vegetable inks and what a fun way to do it.

Easter during the year of the rabbit!? Rabbits rabbits rabbits. Love it. How cute is this Baby bunny binky that HazelNuts made on her blog recently? If you are the crafty sort, the pattern is available from mmmcraft at Etsy for $10US. And the bit that just kills me:
Today is our 2 year anniversary and The Koala surprised me this totally awesome gift. What a find! If you know me, you know I adore Helvetica and rabbits. The pom pom tail has been sewn on. How sweet! It makes me happy that someone out there designed this top.
Want! via Drop Dead Kawaii. You can buy them from Girlzlyfe.com here for just $16.
This piece called On A Moonlight Night by Yoko Iha was my favourite artwork at the Japanese Art Festival over the weekend. Made from clay and acrylic paint. More photos from the weekend to come later tonight. Watch this space!
“Ninja Bunny pwns bad guys with his amazing ninja skills. Pin him anywhere for full ninja protection! This gold plated pin comes in a crywolf box, and is stamped with the crywolf logo in the back.” Available for $7CAD at Crywolf. Also available as a cellphone charm, necklace and zipper pull. And this week I’ve also fallen in love with this Origami Rabbit pin. You can get it for me from The Little Drom Store. Only $29 Singapore dollars.
Adorable Dust Bunny by Fred and Friends. Inside every home cook is an OCD chef just dying to get out. Get this The OCD Chef chopping board for the OCD chef in you. Marked out on the board are medium dice, small dice, julienne and fine julienne. Unfortunately it looks like the measurements are in inches so maybe not for the metric OCD chefs. This chopping board makes the OCD chef in me squeal in delight and then laugh maniacally. You can get it from Fred & Friends www.worldwidefred.com. I’ve been a fan of Fred Flare since forever. Their quirky, whimsical yet useful accessories and knickknacks are right up my alley. Their newer brand Fred & Friends has some awesome kitchen and house goodies. Great for gifts and for yourself. Can be found online or also at your local Living and Giving store.
When these shoes came out I wanted them so bad. I visted stockists in Auckland only to find they only had these mens sizes. Curses on my tiny feet! In the end I settled for a poster of these shoes (kindly brought home by my husband). I’ll just have to adore these kicks from afar.
Local artist Michael Parekowhai’s huge bunny works. Cutesy, Disney, but does the size of them make them a force to be reckoned with?
These rabbit drain paintings are in São Paulo, Brazil and the 6emeia project by Anderson Augusto and Leonardo Delafuente was created to brighten up the streets of São Paulo, Brazil. Lots and lots more designs can be found on their website.
This Giant Rabbit was painted by Belgian street artist Roa on the side of a shop on Hackney Road in London in March 2010. This was painted with the owner’s approval and permission. Yet the council served the owners with a removal order in October, but after a petition and public outcry, the council decided against removing the rabbit. Thank common sense! Councils need to realise that good artwork can beautify an area and can attract people to it. Besides, what gives the council the right to remove artwork on land that doesn’t belong to them? Roa really does get around. This Dead Rabbit by Roa can be found in Williamsburg, New York City. This four story rabbit in Zaragoza, Spain. Maybe the most spectacular, at least technically, would be their lenticular piece on this London garage door. Viewed from the right: Viewed from the left: And viewed from the front: See more of ROA’s urban animals here.
When The Koala and I got married a couple of years ago, I was pretty sure we would have bunny cake toppers for our wedding. I looked online a bit but found everything outrageously expensive. Some wedding toppers cost more than my wedding dress! We collect Kidrobot vinyl toys, so in the end, The Koala spraypainted 2 dunny (design + bunny) toys we already owned, I made a tiny veil and we borrowed a tiny top hat from newlyweds Jessica and Todd. They had a dunny toy that came with a top hat. Sadly, in the madness of our wedding cleanup, the top hat was lost forever. Here are some other wedding toppers from around the world that have been inspired by Kidrobot’s toys: Monster dunny wedding toppers by Lunabee. Azteca and Tattoo Series Dunny. Jed and Stacey’s dunny wedding toppers. A couple of labbits at a Coquette Events wedding. Customised Munny wedding cake toppers by Br0wn. Custom painted BUB and ROOZ by Spanish artist WuzOne for Chaffro and Nat_Kitkat’s wedding cake. The next two are commisioned toppers by How …
The overwhelming majority of rabbits do not choose to wear cosmetics, they are forced. Banksy’s rabbit is an exception to the rule. Animatronics. Pretty creepy stuff.
“Gold-tinged rabbits, snakes and swallows surround prickly blooms – a quietly edgy motif that offsets the perky-pretty robin’s egg blue hue of this screenprinted paper. An Anthropologie exclusive collaboration between Patch NYC and Over & Over.” Available at Anthropologie.
Made for kids as toy box, I’d love this as a bedside table or as a hay keeper for Tofu. It’s so perfectly simple that it isn’t tacky or too in your face. Designed by Matilda Lindblom and Sanna Lindström for Heirloom, the rabbit box’s sides and top are made of varnished MDF. The bottom is made of solid birch. Leather bunny ears.
I’ve always loved this delightful font Rabbit Ears by David Rakowski. It’s subtle enough to use without clients cottoning on that you’ve inserted a rabbit into their design. David is a music composer and font designer. I think those two skills make for an interesting mix. The lower case letters are pretty cute and unassuming, but it’s the uppercase letters that reveal the rabbit ears. Some info I found on David: “DAVID RAKOWSKI teaches music composition and theory at Columbia University, bites his fingernails, lives in a rural setting, doesn’t have enough facial hair for a real beard, makes the world’s greatest pizza, drinks Thai chili pepper sauces by the spoonful, owns three Macintoshes and a canoe, and is one of Amtrak’s major subsidizers. His music is published by C.F. Peters Corporation, 373 Park Avenue South, New York, NY 10016. His wife is named Beth, and his cats are named Poom, Drip, and Bly. He has flown into and out of all three of New York’s major airports, but not usually simultaneously.” You may also have …
This Is Rabbit is a local street artist. His intentions for artwork is like my own: to put a smile on your face. He has a doodle-a-day project going this year which can be found at his website. His subject matter includes animals, food and typography. There aren’t enough rabbits in his work though. Here are some of my favourite This is Rabbit pieces.
I’m not sure exactly why I’m drawn to this delightful drawing by Sarah McNeil. Print available for $34NZ at Foxes.co.nz Well, maybe I have a fuzzy notion why…
Dimensions: 17 1/2″ x 12″ x 12″ Price: $12,000 at Vivre.com The perfect belated Christmas gift for a rabbit obsessed illustrator. Wink nudge.
Unbeknownst to most, the world is completely controlled by a single pipe smoking rabbit. Didn’t you get the memo? By Marc Johns. Link.
