I’ve come down with a cold but the bright, sunny winter days we’ve had over the long weekend certainly helps me feel less miserable. We spent lots of time with friends and I almost pulled an all nighter on Saturday night. Probably not good for a cold, or at my age…It took 2 whole days to recover. We’ve had some stunning weather for almost a week. Bright blue skies, cold winter days. It warms my heart to see Tofu enjoying hours of winter sunbathing, fuzzy belly pressed to the warmed concrete, fluffy butt aimed at the sun. At night, he’s been extra snuggly, jumping up onto the couch is now a nightly occurrence and over the weekend, he even snuggled in with our friend who was sleeping on the couch. This rabbit is good at sunbathing. He usually points his fluffy butt at the sun. Awww yiss. Click here to see more editions of Tofu Tuesday.
I caught Tofu the bunny sitting in the coldest, wettest part of our garden. You know, the area that gets no sun in the winter. …So I scooped him up and put him the sunniest, driest part of our garden. He promptly aimed his butt at the sun and stretched out. I think he liked it. Click here to see more editions of Tofu Tuesday.
Autumn days are getting colder and shorter. The sun is cooler and the shadows are darker. Tofu the bunny finds a patch of late afternoon sun. Whoever coined the term “where the sun don’t shine” obviously never met this rabbit. He’s forever pointing his bum at the sun.
Tofu finds some winter sun. Do not disturb.
Tofu the bunny runs to the back door most mornings, eager to be let out and greet the sunshine. We receive a lot of sun on our deck so if it is a bright day, Tofu might flop over for an early morning nap. I have seen him asleep on the deck a thousand times and it still pleases me how content he looks. Another Tuesday, another photo of the rabbit basking in the sunshine. Doesn’t he look positively blissed out?
It’s getting cooler here in Auckland’s autumn. Last night we turned the heater on for the first time (real low). Tofu the fluffy rabbit can still be found outside every day. He runs outside on his own and some days he even comes inside on his own. Not bad for a blind rabbit. On rainy days he insists he’ll be good and once outside, he usually finds shelter. He loves routine and being outside during the day is his life. One of his favourite spots to lounge is under the stairs. I have to commend the rabbit. He sure knows how to sunbathe. Head and butt perfectly positioned in the sunshine. Can you imagine how good that feels? *Bliss*
Tofu basking in the sunshine. Again. This time with more style. I vaguely remember seeing a photo of me as a little girl with a pair of these. I’ve wanted heart sunglasses for a long time, so when I saw these adult sized ones in Laos last month, I snapped up a red pair. In hindsight, I should have bought a bunch of these in different colours instead of one pair.
