I got my first smart real phone last weekend. I know, I’m a late adopter.
You might not know this about me, but I’m resistant to change.
What you might already know about me is that I love lists. I could write lists all day. Shopping lists, to do lists (life, work, play), lists of things to eat, places to be, movies to see…there’s nothing more satisfying than dreaming up and crossing off items on my lists.
Before last weekend, my hand bag had many scraps of paper with lists scribbled on them. The Koala hated it. He said that I needed to put an entry on each and every one of my lists: “Throw away this list”. Haha.
Yes, I am a compulsive list maker. Do they have rehab for people like me?
So even before I got my phone, I researched how I could get my lists in order. I stumbled across an app called Wunderlist. It was one of the first apps I downloaded and boy am I happy to have it. It’s easy to use and you get a satisfying little sound each time you tick something off your list. You can even view all the completed tasks at once…in case you find pleasure viewing the stuff you’ve already completed. No, it’s not weird at all.
What I really like about it is that you can share your lists with others. I’m going to convince on The Koala to download it and get him to agree to use my our lists. It should make shopping a breeze. No more forgotten items!
Best of all, Wunderlist is FREE! Yes! FREE!
Do you use Wunderlist or any “to do” apps?
Uber
I downloaded Uber this week and used it twice already. My friends raved about it so it was nice to actually be able to use it. My piece of shit old phone would even download the app. I now know that a $25 trip (on Co Op Taxis) costs $19 or $20 on Uber.
What other life changing apps can you recommend to a smart phone noob?
I love a list too, I haven’t got Wunderlist. I must change this, thank you.
I luuuurve wunderlist, it was life saver for our trip, I had a weekly to do list, a blog to do list, trip to do list, one for each country and them we added a gifts list, its amazing! I shared some of my list with le boyfriend and I assign tasks to people.
I’m a list maker and proud! I use Wunderlist (it felt like it had been made for a constant list-maker like me) but for grocery shopping I use ShopShop and wouldn’t be without it.
Thanks for the tip. I think I like the idea of having all my lists in one place, but if I feel like expanding, I’ll check out ShopShop.
I just got my first smartphone too! Its blowing my mind! So much organizational power. I am also a compulsive listmaker. If its not on a list, it will not get done. Every laundry day I could write a book on all the little scraps of paper and napkins I pull out of my pockets with things written on them. Sometimes not even legibly. Definitely checking out wunderlist! Thank you!
