Tofu Tuesday: Om Nom Nom (bokchoy)
The bunny likes his bok choy.

Today is our 2 year anniversary and The Koala surprised me this totally awesome gift. What a find! If you know me, you know I adore Helvetica and rabbits. The pom pom tail has been sewn on. How sweet! It makes me happy that someone out there designed this top.

This piece called On A Moonlight Night by Yoko Iha was my favourite artwork at the Japanese Art Festival over the weekend. Made from clay and acrylic paint. More photos from the weekend to come later tonight. Watch this space!
Once upon a time, I was wedding crazy. It wasn’t a long time, about 8 months of intense wedding planning, but in that time I read everything I could about weddings. One of my favourite blogs back then was Peonies and Polaroids written by Cara. It wasn’t strictly a wedding blog, but she was also swept up on the wedding planning buzz so that’s what I’d decided her blog was about. Once our wedding was over and done with, my wedding obsessions stopped. I stopped reading wedding blogs. But blogs continue being written and read without me following. Blog topics move on. Fans come and go. I rediscovered Peonies and Polaroids. Since then, she’s moved on a bit from weddings, she continues to blog about “photography and beauty and love and stuff”. Most importantly she is now bunny obsessed and anyone that is bunny obsessed is alright in my book. Her and her husband run a wedding photography business so the photographs on her blog are exquisite. Even mundane, every day subjects. You should check …

We often call Tofu Pikachu. It’s not a tough stretch of the imagination. Not when there’s Photoshop just lying around. Pika!!!
Adorable Dust Bunny by Fred and Friends. Inside every home cook is an OCD chef just dying to get out. Get this The OCD Chef chopping board for the OCD chef in you. Marked out on the board are medium dice, small dice, julienne and fine julienne. Unfortunately it looks like the measurements are in inches so maybe not for the metric OCD chefs. This chopping board makes the OCD chef in me squeal in delight and then laugh maniacally. You can get it from Fred & Friends www.worldwidefred.com. I’ve been a fan of Fred Flare since forever. Their quirky, whimsical yet useful accessories and knickknacks are right up my alley. Their newer brand Fred & Friends has some awesome kitchen and house goodies. Great for gifts and for yourself. Can be found online or also at your local Living and Giving store.
Sorry for neglecting my weekly Tofu Tuesday blog posts. I know he has many fans across the world. This week’s edition is an oldie but a goodie. If I told you that Tofu was a good skateboarder back when he was only a year old, you probably wouldn’t believe me. Simon a.k.a. Cracked Ink took these photos about 3 years ago and they have only just now seen the light of day. Simon is an amazing artist and his work can be found here.
When these shoes came out I wanted them so bad. I visted stockists in Auckland only to find they only had these mens sizes. Curses on my tiny feet! In the end I settled for a poster of these shoes (kindly brought home by my husband). I’ll just have to adore these kicks from afar.
Local artist Michael Parekowhai’s huge bunny works. Cutesy, Disney, but does the size of them make them a force to be reckoned with?
These rabbit drain paintings are in São Paulo, Brazil and the 6emeia project by Anderson Augusto and Leonardo Delafuente was created to brighten up the streets of São Paulo, Brazil. Lots and lots more designs can be found on their website.
This Giant Rabbit was painted by Belgian street artist Roa on the side of a shop on Hackney Road in London in March 2010. This was painted with the owner’s approval and permission. Yet the council served the owners with a removal order in October, but after a petition and public outcry, the council decided against removing the rabbit. Thank common sense! Councils need to realise that good artwork can beautify an area and can attract people to it. Besides, what gives the council the right to remove artwork on land that doesn’t belong to them? Roa really does get around. This Dead Rabbit by Roa can be found in Williamsburg, New York City. This four story rabbit in Zaragoza, Spain. Maybe the most spectacular, at least technically, would be their lenticular piece on this London garage door. Viewed from the right: Viewed from the left: And viewed from the front: See more of ROA’s urban animals here.
When The Koala and I got married a couple of years ago, I was pretty sure we would have bunny cake toppers for our wedding. I looked online a bit but found everything outrageously expensive. Some wedding toppers cost more than my wedding dress! We collect Kidrobot vinyl toys, so in the end, The Koala spraypainted 2 dunny (design + bunny) toys we already owned, I made a tiny veil and we borrowed a tiny top hat from newlyweds Jessica and Todd. They had a dunny toy that came with a top hat. Sadly, in the madness of our wedding cleanup, the top hat was lost forever. Here are some other wedding toppers from around the world that have been inspired by Kidrobot’s toys: Monster dunny wedding toppers by Lunabee. Azteca and Tattoo Series Dunny. Jed and Stacey’s dunny wedding toppers. A couple of labbits at a Coquette Events wedding. Customised Munny wedding cake toppers by Br0wn. Custom painted BUB and ROOZ by Spanish artist WuzOne for Chaffro and Nat_Kitkat’s wedding cake. The next two are commisioned toppers by How …
The overwhelming majority of rabbits do not choose to wear cosmetics, they are forced. Banksy’s rabbit is an exception to the rule. Animatronics. Pretty creepy stuff.
“Gold-tinged rabbits, snakes and swallows surround prickly blooms – a quietly edgy motif that offsets the perky-pretty robin’s egg blue hue of this screenprinted paper. An Anthropologie exclusive collaboration between Patch NYC and Over & Over.” Available at Anthropologie.
