What a tough guy.
I need this mug by Korean homewares company Connect Design. Get it here.
Tofu truly does not act like a prey animal. Here he is fast asleep in the middle of the lawn in a bright patch of sunlight. Like a lion, king of his domain. I love watching Tofu dream. He forms a round ball with his body and his whiskers flicker and twitch. I wonder what he is dreaming about?
Parisian fashion manufacturing giant Hermès have many rabbit patterns in their vast collection of necktie prints. Here are some of them.
I made dinner for my parents in the weekend and they sent us home with a bunch of goodies like a bottle of wine, home made bread and home made pate plus 3 tiny carrots for Tofu. So spoilt! Immediately after this photo was taken, Tofu took the carrot between his front teeth and proceeded to frantically run around the room with it in order find the perfect dining spot.
The Koala and I have taken a shining to sipping on Hennessy. Drinking it neat is nice and easy and goes down very smooth. I promise that this Wild Rabbit campaign has nothing to do with it. Scout’s honour. “With artfully directed television work by Johnny Green, three separate commercials follow Filipino fighter and congressman Manny Pacquiao, director Martin Scorsese and singer Erykah Badu.” Campaign for Hennessy by Droga5. Some print pieces from thecampaign…
It has been three weeks since Tofu’s health scare. We have been keeping him inside with only an hour or two outside per day. He has been impatient, waiting at the back door to be let out. Yesterday was his first full day outdoors. Still as busy as ever. Time waits for no bunny.
I just picked up a cute sushi tray from my local Japanese shop for $4. I thought it would be just perfect to hold Tofu the bunny’s fresh salads. What do you think?
I love this extra large Miffy Lamp and also thi s Miffy Dream lamp both by Dutch design studio Mr Maria. Miffy is the beloved bunny character by Dutch author and illustrator Dick Bruna. Miffy’s simple form and x mouth is timeless. See these and more lovely designs on the Mr Mari website here.
We have taken the top off Tofu’s hutch and lined the base with hay. It is easy for him to get in/out now and encourages good hay eating habits. At first he didn’t know how to get in and out because we had removed the door. But once he realised there were no walls and got used to it, he liked it very much. He jumps in and out from every conceivable edge. We don’t have anywhere to lock him up now. So when we want to vacuum*, Tofu gets some backyard play time. Thank you for all the good mojo sent to Tofu since his illness last week. Yesterday we went back to the vet for a scheduled check up to make sure all the meds are on track. They have kept him overnight so that he can get another eye flush today, but we’re feeling good that the bladder sludge has been cleared. We will be picking Tofu up tonight but feeling good this time, though his treatment will not be urgent, hope …
I just got a call from the vet and Tofu will be staying another night at the animal hospital. He has been diagnosed with bladder sludge (basically like bladder stones only they haven’t formed stones). His blood and poop have been tested and given the all clear. One tear duct was blocked and now clear. He has been washed and tomorrow he will get his bladder flushed of sludge. So this is fairly good news and a relief. Can’t wait until we can get him home tomorrow but The Koala and I are confident that he is in great hands. Thank you to all the well wishers and we felt each and every one of them.
Tofu the rabbit has been unwell and yesterday afternoon we took him to Lynfield Vets who are the best bunny vets in Auckland. He has spent the night at the animal hospital. Tomorrow they will run a whole series of tests on him including x-rays, eye flush and what they call “Full Geriatric Testing”. I have never thought of Tofu as a geriatric. Not even once. He was already miffed when the vet mentioned that he was overweight, he probably won’t handle his new geriatric labelling well. Let’s face it, we have a double cataract, overweight, geriatric bunny but we love him to bits. We will be collecting him tomorrow afternoon and fingers crossed that he is OK and that his health concerns are identified and come with straightforward treatment. I hate to think what we will do if he isn’t OK. This bill alone is more than a week’s wages, but what else can you do? Please keep little Tof in your thoughts today. No new photo for today’s post but here are a …
J.Crew’s Goodwinn Collection has a smart bunnylicious advertising campaign. Each bag in this range has a different capacity which is measured by bunnies. Choose the perfect size bag for your bunny requirements. The Goodwinn Purse fits 1 bunny, The Goodwinn Hobo fits 2 bunnies, and The Goodwinn Tote fits 3 bunnies. Never get caught out again. Source Please note, I believe these bags are measured in baby bunnies, an adult male rabbit like Tofu might be the equivalent of a Goodwinn tote. Love bunny things? After a bunny bath, we turn up the dehumidifier and Tofu gets wrapped up in fresh towels (also known as a bunny burrito) and held like a baby. I can hold him with one arm while I’m at my computer. It’s rather nice.

Tofu is the brains of this operation. He is meticulous and creative and I don’t know where this blog would be without him.
Happy National Potato Day! 19 August is National Potato Day and while “national” refers to USA, the internet makes the world such a small place. Potatoes are tasty, versatile and good for you. Not a week goes by that I don’t eat a potato and today’s Monday Bunday features a potato shaped rabbit who goes by the name Molang. Think of it as Korea’s answer to Sanrio’s Hello Kitty, My Melody and Little Twin Stars…only better. Molang is a small and lovable animal. He’s very curious and a big dreamer. Molang loves to have fun and to give kisses. But what he loves most is to eat strawberries. As soon as Molang catches a whiff of this fruit, its cheeks turn a little pinker and its eyes shine a little brighter. Molang loves strawberries but it also likes to eat everything else. He particularly loves traveling everywhere/around the world to discover new flavours and tastes. Then, Molang likes to share all his lucky finds with his friends. Hmmmm…I love strawberries, eating and travel. Oh my gawd. I …
