It’s hard to practice any sort of self control when you have two art lovers in the house and an entire art festival filled with reasonably priced pieces. We’re not art collectors as such, we just like a lot of cool stuff. Cool being subjective of course. Over the weekend at the Japanese Art Festival, The Koala and I gained five new pieces of art.
This is one of them. The Koala saw it first, fell in love with it and I didn’t need much convincing. The frame is made by the artists husband and I love how it has a really rustic feel.
Titled Mushrooooom!! by Masmi Sakakibara, I thought it would be fitting to introduce the mushroom artwork to the rabbit with the mushroom coloured features.
Very cool. I love pieces that give me a feeling of whimsy.
That bunny looks like he needs a hug. A great big hug.
Very cool art, indeed…but weren’t you recently complaining that you don’t have enough space for the art you already own? Just sayin’.
Busted. Yes I was complaining. But then we rehung some of our art so that we have an art cluster made out of some of our smaller works. If we display all our small pieces in clusters, we’ll make more room.
🙂
That’s such a nice piece! It actually gave me flashbacks to a shot I animated at my old work place where three ferrets dump about a hundred little mushrooms into a big heap in front of a little dinosaur, before he wakes up and decides to eat the mushrooms. I had to hand-animate every one of those little mushrooms, and it took forever!
But yes, really nice addition to your collection!
Poor little mushrooms. Sounds like a cute animation. I am the dinosaur. I love mushrooms.
I will put it up someday and show you, when the copyright on the series clears.
I love the piece but I love how your bunny looks in front of it even more. Sooooo cute!
That’s awesome! You should do a house tour post – I’d love to see all your art and cool tchotchkes that I imagine you have.
We have a similar problem…three framed posters ready to go up and no idea where to put them…a rearrange might be necessary for us, too! I actually had to put my foot down and say no at the Affordable Art Fair the other day. It hurt.
Just found out that I somehow got unsubscribed! WordPress grrrrrrrr!
I was just thinking I missed my Monday Bundays and Tofu Tuesdays!
Bad WordPress!
I think you have some bunnies to catch up on 🙂
I do!
Oh Tofu, you are a handsome boy. Those mushrooms really bring out his nose. How do you get him to stay still? Mine just run towards me for cuddles.
My subjects only need to stay still for 1/250th of a second or however much I have my shutter speed set to. SLR cameras are awesome. I wouldn’t attempt this with a regular point and shoot.
