This morning, The Koala started his new job. He was up before dawn and handed me a sleepy rabbit to snuggle with in his place.
Tofu the bunny is extra lovely in the morning, especially when he wants to do a bit more snoozing. You can rub his ears and cheeks and he will grind his teeth in delight (kind of like a cat purring). Even after I’d gotten up, showered, dressed and breakfasted, Tofu the bunny was still snuggling on the bed enjoying the residual warmth. I felt cruel when it was time to scoop him up and put him outside.
On that note, I’d like to present to you this new design called “Sleepy Rabbit” by New Zealand company Citta Design. Citta Design are just around the corner from where I live, work and play and they even have an outlet store next door to BLOC. I often visit during lunch time for a bit of window shopping. Kind of like a real life Pinterest. I could walk around the store putting little pin stickers on all the stuff I covet.
I love their description for this cushion cover in their website…
Shhh… Don’t wake the Sleepy Rabbit. Just curl up next to him and snuggle deeper under the blankets for a little self-imposed hibernation.
You can get your very own for $39.90NZ in store or on the Citta Design website. Please note this is the cover only and cushion inner is extra.

Haha… Tofu sounds like a real darling. We have no pets in our home (as we’re renting in an apartment block) but now I feel like I might just be able to sneak in a fluffy bunny! Love the textile design. I haven’t heard of Citta but I’ll take a look at their website!
Hi Laura! I used to work with a site manager of a few apartment buildings in the city and she said that she once went to an apartment and found a Flemish giant bunny in there! It was really chilled out and if she hadn’t entered the apartment, she would never have know. They have a (not so strict) no pets policy but if your neighbours can’t see or hear your pet, the site managers might just turn a blind eye.
Some places allow birds and fish but not cats or dogs. Personally, I don’t think it’s fair to have a rabbit in an apartment but many rabbit owners over the world do so. Tofu spends 8-10 hours outside in the backyard every day. I can tell he enjoys his outside time.
I guess I know what Im getting when I move house..that pillow is amazing
Dustie used to love cuddling in the morning too. Our routine was that she would wait at her gate (we had to lock her up in her room at night because she bugged us too much) and JT would get up and let her in. She would play coy and wait until JT got back to bed, then she would come screaming in, jump up, walk across his face to get to me. Then she would flop onto her back, curled into me and I would rub her belly and we’d fall back to sleep. Gosh, I really miss those times.
Good luck to the Koala on his new job.
