Squeee! Timaru-based TradeMe seller Weta20 recently listed item “Wooden Robot Rabbit”.
Let’s take a moment to appreciate how awesome this is.
“Yes you read correctly, a wooden robot rabbit made from recycled materials… Rimu, piano keys and pine offcuts, features large metal ears painted in an attractive blue, manoeuvrable limbs and a verdigris copper detailing on the body. Sturdy construction, stands well.
Totally unique and a one off. Grab a special gift for that special someone.
dimensions are approx H42cm x W14cm x D6cm
In a time of mass production and plastic its nice to know you can still get that unique one off gift for Xmas. “
I’d love to get someone this for Christmas but I’m afraid the envy would be unbearable.
I love buying unique, one-off gifts. It’s the first day of December today here in Auckland, New Zealand. Retail is going to be insane for the next few weeks. If you have a choice, support local made! If we all buy just 1 or 2 gifts that are locally made, it will make the holiday season for our own communities a little brighter.
Do you buy local made? Will you?

Great read. I try and buy local and support independent retailers where possible.
Brilliant!!
