I didn’t witness this, but The Koala reported it back to me and I thought Tofu Tuesday fans would enjoy this too.
I had planted a thyme plant in a plastic trough and left it on the edge of the deck about 2 feet up from ground level.
Tofu the bunny, with terrible sight due to cataracts in both eyes, still has an excellent sense of smell. The very next day he used another, lower pot as a stepping stone to nibble at the overhanging thyme springs. Then he proceeded to pull the whole plant β and the dirt that goes with the plant β out and on top of his head. He continues eating. Unfazed. Hilarity ensues.
I wish there was video or photos.
My very first bunny, BoomBoom got into a lot of trouble when he ate the baby corn and then the whole plant my Mom was growing on our balcony. A lot of trouble :(.
Tofu must have been adorable wearing his dirt hat.
In the summer, we give Tofu corn silk and a few leaves from the corn husk. It’s like crack to him and I can imagine what he would think of baby corn and a whole plant!

Cheeky tofu. They never seem fazed about getting overed in dirt or hay, as long as it doesn’t get near the ears! Flatpac gets given a whole parsley plant on her birthday and she eats it right down to the roots.
I have only recently realised that Tofu likes parsley leaves and roots, but passes on the stalk.
Tofu likes getting dirty and he doesn’t mind getting wet. Sometimes when it is pouring, he can be found chilling in the middle of the backyard. Come inside you silly bunny!
If I put Flatpac on the grass, she lifts her feet really high because she doesn’t like the feeling of the grass! They are worlds apart in their differences LOL!
lol. Like a cat walking through long wet grass?
Hysterical! Now that is a bunny who loves his food!
It’s either commitment, or not giving a rodent’s behind…
Both maybe π
