Tofu Tuesday: Waiting for the strawberry plants

Tofu the bunny loves strawberry plants and always checks to see if any strawberry leaves or runners have grown down to the height that he can reach. He will wait patiently below the strawberry plants for hours each day. Can you can see the two lower black holes of the planter are empty? That’s because Tofu pulls out the plants he can reach and gobbles them up. I thought I was being so smart putting the planter up high on top of a bucket. Tofu the bunny is smarter than I.

I am Genie, a graphic designer/photographer obsessed with food and bunnies. I live in Whanganui, New Zealand with my husband, The Koala and our two rabbits, Kobe and Bento. I write about my hedonistic ways and I love the mantra "Eat well, travel often". I prefer not to write about myself in third person.

How cute. And that you can still grow strawberry in the winter outdoors is pretty incredible. Our temperatures are soaring to feel like 40C with high humidity.

    • He is smart. Or maybe just one track minded 🙂

I came home from today and opened the backdoor to do some washing. Tofu the bunny was inside today due to rain but raced outside the moment he figured the backdoor was open. It took him less than a minute. Blindness? What blindiness?!

  2. I wanted to leave this comment on your “About” page but coudn’t find a comment section there.

You said, “My dream job would be to design for a food magazine or design restaurant graphics and food packaging.”

You can. This Blog seems to be more of a journal that includes food, etc. but you could start a Blog that is a dedicated food magazine with design and graphic elements that include embedded YouTube videos that you produce. It isn’t that difficult to open your own YouTube account. In fact, it only takes about a half hour to learn how to use the video editing tools that come with most computer operating systems.

This online publication could be your showcase to demonstrage your creativity, innovation, immagination, and who knows, some magazine in the publishing world might see your work and contact you when a position opens. Meanwhile, you would be doing exactly what you want to do with your own on-line magazine.

In fact, if it caught on, you might not have to work for anyone else because if your on-line food magazine has enough followers, then advertisers will seek you out and ask to place their ads on your site. With every click, you earn money.

I love your comments! Your comments are like extra melted cheese on top.
