Ultimate OmNoms is a prolific Auckland restaurant review blog with stunning photography. I’ve met both Cecilia and Rayshur and had the pleasure of eating with them at events such as the grand opening of Ma Cherie and Graze and Feast.
Cecilia Wong is the main belly behind Ultimate OmNoms and below are her answers to the tasty questions I cooked up for your enjoyment.
Describe your blog:
Nommy || Sunny side up || Off the cuff.
What is the most popular post on your blog?
Baduzzi dessert post -> ultimateomnoms.com/baduzzi/
Name your favourite comfort food:
Dumplings! There’s something soothing about the process of making them, seeing them all sitting quietly in their curved forms…then sending them away to be pan fried or steamed. Love adding chilli oil to serve.
What did you have for breakfast?
Avocado on toast. That’s been on repeat for almost the whole year now..A world without avocados is a bleak one..
What is the most delicious thing you’ve eaten this week?
Crepes at Odettes Eatery – both their savory and sweet crepes are amazing!
What is an underrated ingredient?
Can’t believe I’m saying this but..ginger. I hate eating it but when tossed with garlic, it gives the most beautiful aroma to my home cooked Chinese meals.
What are 3 sources of inspiration to you?
Talking to people outside of your stress zones, waves at night, musicals
Favourite Auckland restaurant? Just recently, Bolaven in Mt Eden.
…and your favourite dish there?
Pork belly bites – so moorish!
There’s a potluck dinner tomorrow night, what are you bringing?
Matcha-misu – that’s been on my to-try list for a while now..
What is your most memorable meal?
Can’t knuckle down to one..Food is the catalyst to many memorable gatherings!
An Auckland eatery that is on your wishlist?
The Engine Room. I’ve heard only amazing things about it and I live so close to it but it always escapes my mind when asked for places to eat at.
